Callantsoog: holiday on the North Sea


Callantsoog is part of the community of Schagen and the best seaside resort on the North Sea Coast. It has a nice centre circling the new Village square where a lot of diverse shops, pubs and restaurants can be found. The Village square is near the broad sandy beach.


Plenty free parking places are available to park your car and visit the beach in Callantsoog. Some large beach pavillions are opened year round.
The supermarket in the village is open for seven days a week from 8 a.m. till 10 p.m. So open on Sunday as well.

There is always something to do on Callantsoog! Activities are organised on a regular basis. For example the music event “Oog op Pop” (English: Eye on Pop), the Easterfair, the 10-days-party event in July or the art route.

The oldest building of the village is the church of 1671. The church bells are from an older church and they were made in 1491.

Hiking around Callantsoog.
The national park “Het Zwanenwater” (English: The Swan water) is a fantastic location to hike in. There are 2 hiking trails of 2.5 and 5 kilometres.

Cycling around Callantsoog
In and around Callantsoog is it possible to follow diverse cycling trails. Through the dunes to Den Helder, Julianadorp, Bergen (very famous for its artists) of picturesque Schoorl. You will be mesmerized by the beautiful surroundings and in spring you will enjoy the colourful flower fields. These fields full of bulbs are along the coast line till Petten. Holland is known for its flower fields so do not miss this!
